Work activities in this group primarily involve instructing and directing others in the principles, techniques, and/or application of some form of creative expression, such as art, music, dramatics, or dance. Instruction and direction may be general or specific in nature. When specific, it involves the evolution of a personal interpretation and the application of this personal viewpoint to the learning processes, development and/or performance of others.

Intellectual capacity sufficient to acquire necessary knowledge and background in the subject matter area and teaching techniques; an analytical mind to organize facts in answering students questions and to organize programs of instruction; perception for detail; aesthetic appreciation; creativity and imagination; ability to relate to people and communicate ideas; and a feeling for form, color, and composition as it applies to the visual arts.
