Work Performed

Work activities in this group are characterized by an emphasis upon manual skills. Activities primarily involve working with the hands, handtools, or work aids according to prescribed standards. Although the techniques and procedures are established, workers exercise considerable judgment in planning the sequence of operations, selecting proper tools and materials, and adjusting established techniques to the task at hand. Activities frequently involve fabricating, processing, installing, and/or repairing materials, products, and/or structural parts.

Worker Requirements
Ability to learn and apply craft techniques, processes, and principles; manual and finger dexterity; eye-hand coordination; ability to perceive small differences in things and objects and spatial relationships; ability to utilize applied math to solve practical problems such as computing object dimensions and material amounts needed; ability to work to prescribed tolerances and rigid standards.
