| Work activities in this group primarily involve starting, stopping, controlling, and adjusting the progress of machines and equipment. Typically, involvement is with one kind of machine and includes setting up the machine; observing its functioning; making necessary adjustments to regulate such factors as temperature, pressure, flow of liquids, and reactions of materials; and making minor repairs to the machine. The work most frequently involves machines used to process materials and make products, and activities may then include removing the materials or products from the machine and verifying their accuracy with measuring devices and gauges. |
