Work Performed

Work activities in this group primarily involve applying knowledge of medical science to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of human and animal diseases, disorders, and injuries. Intellectual capacity to comprehend a variety of college courses and subjects in basic medical sciences; analytical ability to derive nature, origin, and probable course of illness or disorder from diagnostic and historical information; spatial perception to visualize position and arrangement of unseen organs, bony structures, and tissues from X-ray photographs and knowledge of anatomy; form perception to observe physical manifestations of disease or tissue damage; stamina to work long and irregular hours when required; finger and manual dexterity and motor coordination to use surgical instruments with precision and speed, administer injections, and perform autopsies; ability to make critical decisions and perform difficult tasks under stress.
