Work Performed

Work activities in this group primarily involve investigation into atmospheric, astronomical, and geographical phenomena and conditions; into theoretical aspects of physics and mathematics; and into automatic data-processing systems and programs. Typically, workers collect and analyze data on the features of the atmosphere, earth's surface, and celestial bodies; formulate theories on time, space, matter and energy, and other aspects of the physical world; make mathematical statements of problems for solution by automatic data-processing systems; develop new mathematical and statistical methods and formulas; and communicate research findings through reports, lectures, technical publications, and other media.
