CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT AND ASSOCIATE DEGREES

Certificate of Achievement
Monterey Peninsula College offers certificates of achievement in a variety of occupational and academic programs. Certificate programs focus specifically on classes required to prepare you for an entry level occupation; programs do not include the general education classes required to earn an associate degree. Some programs require as few as 18 units (a certificate of achievement in Business-Secretarial) or as many as 38 units (a certificate of achievement in Automotive Technology). Certificate programs typically take two-four full-time semesters to complete.

Associate in Arts (A.A) and Associate in Science (A.S.) Degrees
MPC offers a variety of occupational associate degrees.  To earn an associate degree, you must complete general education and proficiency requirements, classes in your major, and enough elective courses for a total of 60 degree applicable units. It usually takes a full-time student two-three years to earn an associate degree.   Many students attend school on a part-time basis and as such may take longer than two-three years to complete their degree.
