Admission Requirements for Transfer to California State University (CSU)
Students qualify for admission to CSU as transfer applicants if they have a
grade point average of 2.0 (C) in transferable units completed and if they meet
any of the following standards:
Applicants who graduated from high school in 1988 or later:
Complete all subject requirements in effect upon graduation from high school
(can use both high school and college course work); or complete at least 30
semester units of college coursework with a grade of "C" or better in each
course to be selected from courses in English, arts and humanities, social
science, science or mathematics at a level at least equivalent to courses that
meet General Education requirements. The 30 units must include all of the
General Education requirements in communication in the English language and
critical thinking (at least nine semester units) and the requirement in
mathematics/quantitative reasoning (usually three semester units) or the
Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements in
English communication and mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning.
Applicants who graduated from high school prior to 1988:
Complete four years high school English and two years high school math, with
grades "C" or better; or complete a baccalaureate course with a grade of "C" or
better that meets the General Education requirements in written communication
and a course with a grade of "C" or better that meets the General Education
requirement in mathematics/quantitative reasoning or IGETC requirements in
English composition and mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning. The
course meeting either General Education math requirement must be above the level
of intermediate algebra.

Admission Requirements for Transfer to University of California (UC): Eligibility for admission is dependent upon:
Applicants who met the subject, scholarship and examination requirements
when they graduated from high school are eligible to transfer if they have a "C"
(2.0) average in their transferable college coursework.
Applicants who met the scholarship requirement but did not satisfy the subject
requirement must take transferable college courses in the subjects they are
missing, earn a grade of "C" or better in each of these required courses and
earn an overall "C" (2.0) average in all transferable college coursework to be
eligible to transfer.
Students who met the scholarship requirement but did not meet the examination
requirement must complete a minimum of 12 semester (18 quarter) units of
transferable work and earn an overall "C" (2.0) average in all transferable
college coursework completed.
Applicants who were not eligible for admission to the University when they
graduated from high school because they did not meet the scholarship requirement
must:
Two transferable college courses (3 semester or
4-5 quarter units each) in English composition;
one transferable college course(3 semester or 4-5
quarter units each) in Mathematical Concepts and Quantitative Reasoning; four
transferable college courses (3 semester or 4-5 quarter units each) chosen from
at least two of the following subject areas: the arts and humanities, the social
and behavioral sciences or the physical and biological sciences.
