Things to do by the end of Week 1 of Chemistry 1A.

Read Chapters 1 and 2 of Chemistry The Molecular Science  by Moore, Stanitski, and Jurs

Study the following objectives in the Chemistry 1A booklet. 

All Chapter 1 Objectives

Objectives 1-20, 25-39, 41, 42, 43(a-d), and 45 of Chapter 2. 

The things you need to memorize include

The glossaries found in the booklet for Chapters 1 and 2.

Table 1.1 on page 8 of the booklet (element names and symbols)  Start with the ones in bold type.

Table 2.6 on page 18 of the booklet (metric prefixes)

Center column of Table 2.9 on page 19

Prepare sample short answers for the following objectives.

Objectives 7-12 in Chapter 1

Objectives 9-14, 23, 24, 31 in Chapter 2

Test your skills on the glossary terms by working the glossary quizzes for Chapters 1 and 2.
