Things to do by the end of Week 9 of Chemistry 1A.

If necessary, reread selected sections in Chapter 6 of Chemistry, The Molecular Science by Moore, Stanitski, and Jurs.   

Study the following objectives in the Chemistry 1A booklet. 

  All Chapter 6 objectives

  Objectives 1-7 for Chapter 7

Prepare sample answers to the following short answer objectives in Chapter 6 (23, 25, 26 and 27) and Chapter 7 (1-6).

Make study sheets for the following types of calculations.

  Converting between DH and DE.

  Bomb calorimeter problems (See pages 122 and 124 of the booklet.)

  General Law of Hess problems (See page 127 of the booklet.)

  Heat of formation problems

Prepare for the next quiz. The possible quiz questions are at the following web address. 


Prepare for the second exam.

Pay special attention to the following objectives. the pages in the booklet that might be useful are in parentheses.

Chapter 5: 4(p83), 5, objectives relating to the identifications of weak and strong acids and bases (p90), 11(p88), 17-19(p89), 21, 22(p92-94), 26, 28(p97), 30, 31(p100,101), 32(p102), how make problems (p103-105), and 40
