Things to do by the end of Week 3 of Chemistry 2.

Read sections 6.3-6.7 and Chapters 7-9 of An Introduction to Chemistry by Mark Bishop. 

Study the objectives for Sections 6.3-6.7, Chapters 7, Chapter 8, and Sections 9.1 and 9.2.  Pay special attention to the following objectives and the problems relating to them.

Chapter 6: 1, 14, 17, 18, and 22

Chapter 7: 1, 4, 7, 10, and 12-15

Chapter 8: 1, 5-8, 10, 11, 13, and 17

Chapter 9: 1, 3-6

Study the glossary terms for Chapters 6-9 and test yourself with the following glossary quizzes.

Memorize the following

Sample Study Sheet 8.1: Identification of Strong and Weak Acids and Bases (page 344)

Sample Study Sheet 9.1: Assignment of Oxidation Numbers (page 378)

Convince yourself that you can work end-of-chapter problems in sections 6.3-6.7, Chapters 7 and 8, and sections 9.1, 9.2, and 9.3.

Prepare short answers for the following objectives.

Chapter 6: 14, 17, and 18

Chapter 7: 7, 10, 13, 14, and 15

Chapter 8: 3, 4, 10, 13, 16, and 17

Look at the sample exams.
