Exercise  - Predicting the Effect of Temperature on Solubility:

Would you expect the water solubility of the following substances to be higher or lower at 100 C than at 20 C?

a. ammonia (used to make fertilizers and in household cleaners)

melting point = -77 C   boiling point -33.5 C

b. caffeine (the stimulant in coffee) melting point = 238 C
