Connections

Your ideas may be clear to you, but that does not mean they will be clear to the reader.  Two techniques that show the connection between ideas or sentences will make your meaning clearer.  The first technique is simply to repeat key ideas and words to remind the reader of the topic under discussion.  A second technique is to use logic markers, words or phrases that make the organization of your writing clear.  It is especially helpful to make use of these techniques as you make the transition from one paragraph, or topic, to another.  Phrases or sentences that do this can be called paragraph bridges.
