Grading
To pass the course you must do the homework, come to class, have a passing average on the formal essays and pass the final exam. You will be able to re-write four of the formal essays to improve your grade. There are 250 points possible for the course, as follows:
Essay 1: 20 points
Essay 2: 30 points
Essay 3: 30 points
Essay 4: 30 points

A = 225+ points
B = 200-224
C = 175-199
D = 150-174
F = below 150
Attendance: You may miss four classes without penalty. After that, three points will be subtracted for each absence.
