This course offers an examination of nutrition principles with emphasis
on the subject of obtaining and maintaining a good state of
nutrition. Students will study the nutritive values and sources
of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals and
vitamins. Practical application of nutrition theory will provide the student with
skills needed to choose food for optimal health. Includes a
computer diet analysis.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Nutrition course, students will be able to:

List the basic nutrients in food, their function in the human body, and the sources of those nutrients.
