Students missing first day of class are automatically dropped. I also reserve the right to drop you from class for excessive tardies and lack of academic progress.  Even when you are absent, you are responsible for any missed work. If you plan to miss class:

  • Attempt to notify me before class begins (646-3008 or 646-4100).
  • Request another day and time to make up the assignment missed. If not, a zero will be recorded.
  • You may make up only 1 speech. (It will still receive late penalty)  In order to have a make up opportunity, you must notify me before class.
  • Any late speech/assignment will receive minimum one-grade deduction penalty.
  • Missing thumb drives and/or speech outlines on days of speeches will receive penalty reduction points.
  • Class Behavior:  Please make sure cell phones are turned off during class; no texting permitted. No gum chewing or wearing caps, especially during speeches.  If you arrive late to class, come in quietly; if you arrive late during a speech, wait outside until the speech is finished.  Please be courteous and respectful; disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
