I have notified all of these representatives and their division chairs.

From the Academic Senate bylaws:

February: Divisions elect Academic Senate representatives according to their own means.

Last week of February: Academic Senate organizes campus-wide elections for at-large seats. Two at-large this time (Merry Dennehy and Elias Kary).

Second meeting in March: Elect Academic Senate Officers for the 2014-2015 Academic Year.

Officers consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary, ASCCC Delegate, and Committee on Committees Chair.

Schedule

We will meet the first and third Thursdays as usual. The first Thursday in April is during Spring Break, so that's inconvenient. I propose we meet the second and fourth Thursdays in April. Since April has five Thursdays, this will keep us on track to meet every other Thursday throughout the spring semester.

College Council

Efforts to evaluate the goals and review the mission continue. This effort remains with subcommittees at this point. I will report when it makes it to the larger body.

Goal Groups

AAAG (met Feb 18)

Approved the GE Board Policy.

This last group of board policies that we worked on last year is now ready to go to the College Council.

Walt Tribley made a presentation about year-long schedules. Look forward to more information from your division chairs about this.

Permanent replacements for several open classified positions is being postponed to enable those possibly laid off from other classified positions to apply if they have the appropriate skills. These areas can hire temps to bridge the gap.

Board of Trustees

Tenure is expected to be awarded to several very deserving individuals this coming Wednesday. You may want to attend.

ASCCC

Paola Gilbert plans to attend the Spring Plenary as our delegate.
