A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can do, he must do. He must be true to his own nature Abraham Maslow
Work is love made visible. Kahlil Gibran
Welcome to my home page! The links on this page have been designed to help you find the course and counseling information you will need to plan your future.
As a community college counselor, my role is to guide students academically, to assist them with personal issues, and to help them formulate career plans. Career counseling, however, has been the focus of my work at MPC. I have a Master of Science Degree in Counseling with a Career Development Option, and I am a California Registered Professional Career Counselor Helping people find their life’s mission has been a continuing source of fulfillment for me.
The links on the side menu will take you to the courses that I currently teach. PERS 61A, Getting Started (0.5 units) was developed for new college students who plan to transfer to a university. The coursework helps students identify a goal and demystifies the transfer process. This is a self-paced course and may be added to a student’s schedule anytime during the semester. PERS 71, Foundations of Career Choice (1.0 unit), guides students through the career development process, including self-assessment, career exploration, academic and financial resources, decision-making, and goal setting. This is a short-term class that is currently taught online. PERS 431, Career Exploration (0 units), is a non-credit course that is open to anyone who needs help with any stage of the career development process. Students meet with me individually to develop their goals, and career counseling is conducted on a one-to-one basis.
I hope to meet with you soon!
