Larry Rice– presentation abstract

Larry presented at the "Pathways in Motion," Career and Technical Education Conference in
November 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

ABSTRACT:
The New CTE includes Trades AND Professions (Presentation in PDF format)

The new Career and Technical Education (CET) Industrial and Engineering Technology (IET) pathway
introduces students to a continuum of trades through professions. From shop to software, students are introduced to a broad spectrum of careers covering architecture, engineering, construction, transportation, manufacturing, and computing.

Synergistically combining product and service will be key to successful competition within today's
dynamic professional marketplace. IET students are taught to deliver product and service in the practice
of architectural design, industrial design, and in the delivery of other professional services.
